Salem, Oregon - looking for md enthusiasts to hunt area

Salem, Oregon provides my hunting grounds. Would like to participate in some md outings at sites near the Willamette River, preferably old recorded landings and private property w/permission. TNet forum has good references for these landings. Other early settled areas are of interest also.

Am comfortable with my DFX. Haven't had time yet for a volume of finds, but have pulled over a hundred coins out of the ground around the area. My neighbor has a barn and two feet away from one corner I unearthed a 1898 Barber half, crisp and clean w/insignificant black patina. It was in about three inches of hard, hoof-packed ground. I think it was a San Francisco mint. I gave it to the neighbor for Christmas. I'll borrow it back some evening to get the pics I never took and some forum folks might help me grade it.

The rush of uncovering a piece of history is worth far more than the few bucks it might be worth. I really enjoy the stories of discovery in this forum.

Anyone interested in hunting this area in the near future, December '08?
