Re: The 2009 Treasure Expo & Trade Show

What a GREAT show. I am finally starting to recover from the Treasure Expo & Trade Show weekend. I've been working at the Sheriff's Dept. every night since the show, so I haven't had a chance to talk about how great the booths were, and how much I enjoyed meeting everyone at the show.
There were a few awards given out at the show. The first one was the "Predator Award", which was presented by myself of the Treasure Expo & Trade Show and Predator Tools. This award went to "Shark Pit Treasures" for it's GREAT display. The next award was "Peoples Choice". This award compiled a majority of the Publics vote as to which display they enjoyed. There were so many that it was hard to get a final answer to one booth. On the last day, the vote had gone to "Gold Hound Treasure Diver's" and Greg Bounds. They did an awesome job building their display. You could see how hard they had worked on it. Finally, "Best Booth" was awarded for the Vendor's Booth that absolutely went above and beyond. The "Best Booth" was awarded to the entire gang at "Seafarer Exploration". Their Booth was amazing, including the anchor made of money that was given away in a drawing on Sunday. They also were responsible for building and setting up the beautiful Pirate Ship you see in all the photos outside the Expo Hall at the main entrance. As if that weren't enough, they included "Pirate Soup Radio" into the show and set up the music in the Expo Hall directly in front of their booth. The entire public was blessed with beach music both days of the show thanks to Pirate Soup Radio. You guys rock!
Being at work, I'm not able to load the photos of all the booths, but I did get some of each Vendor. I will load them tomorrow for everyone to see.
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed meeting everyone from TreasureNet and the entire Treasure Hunting Community. After this weekend, I have definately decited to take the next step and begin planning the next show, and making it even bigger and better. I learned alot from this first show, which I will take in and use at the upcoming shows.
I look forward to seeing you all again.

Re: The 2009 Treasure Expo & Trade Show

Thanx for the great Expo, David! Meeting the vendors and talking with them about their firsthand experiences in the field was very informative. Couldn't help but buy a Booty Hunter T-shirt from Rob at the Shark Pit. It drew a lot of comments Sunday morning. Good on you, Rob! I really enjoyed the Free Lance Writing and Photography for Publication seminars by Charles Harris and Butch Holcombe as well as the Surf and Water Hunting seminar by Jim Brouwer. They were very educational, informative, and at times downright funny! Having these men share their experiences, tips, and insights with the novice and experienced alike was a highlight for me, but it gets better! The seeded hunts were the best part of the weekend! A number of years back, a friend told me he that skydiving was the most fun anyone could ever have with their clothes on. I tried it and it was good to go, but it definitely pales in comparison to competition hunting! Like at least one other thing that comes to mind, the first ten minutes were very intense, challenging, exciting, and exhilarating! I definitely look forward to doing that again next year(?)! All in all, a great show, Dave!
