 Looking for that ONE find.
THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT
Come and have a time of your life in Caldwell, Kansas. It will be a good idea to call for rooms as soon as you can. I will start posting participants in June on another post called Official Chisholm Trail Hunt. We hope to have lots and lots of prizes.THE 2007 CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT
IN CALDWELL, KANSAS
October 5th through 7th
Sign in and pick up your name tags on Friday, Oct. 5, at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. at the Caldwell fair building. You can sign up at the hunt site on Saturday if you can't make Friday night.
Only registered TreasureNet members from 7-07-07 and before will be allowed to hunt ($50), family and frinds are allowed to attend for $10. No exceptions to this rule. This is for friends who use the forum at TreasureNet; however, TreasureNet is not directly involved in this hunt. Burdie and Stoney56 are putting on this group hunt. Send messages to Stoney56 for donations. Use the TreasureNet forum.
There is a $50 registration fee for each hunter. Must be 18 or older to hunt. Non-hunters will be charged $10 to attend.
The first 50 members who have paid and met all the other requirements will be allowed to attend. The money will be used for food, refreshments, door prizes, and donation to the landowner. Participants must sign a non-injury release at the site before they will be allowed to hunt.
The hunt site is on private property. Please treat it as such. The gentleman who owns the property is very pleased to permit the hunt on a trial basis. We feel sure that members will appreciate his courtesy and conduct themselves accordingly. If he is pleased, other locations in the area will open up as well. (It is possible that an 1880 ghost town could become available for a future hunt.)
The site you will be hunting is next to the Chisholm cattle trail. A crude shack was constructed to provid whiskey and women for the cowboys. The military had an encampment here during the 1893 Cherokee Strip land run. Circuses were held on this site from 1920’s to 1940’s also.
Fees can be paid by PayPal to <se_Burdett@hotmail.com> Payment can also be made by cashier's check or money order. Personal checks will be accepted. As noted above, the first 50 paid and qualified entrants will be the only TreasureNet members allowed. We are now collecting fees for the Chisholm Trail Hunt. Last day to pay fees is September 15th. I highly recomend getting rooms as early as possible. Have a good day.

Re: THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT is on!!!
Burdie, how firm is the 50 hunter limit? Oct is a long way off to make firm plans this early, the limitation might be reached before several will know if they can attend or not;i.e.,me.With a handicapped wife I won't know for sure about arrangements until 1-2 mo prior. But I can understand the need to get the entries in early and you should do that.If I miss,I miss.Sounds like a neat place and you and stoney56 have a lot of planning and setup to do.Lesson from JD's hunt-get the money up front!Don't clean that place out now with that T2.

Re: THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT is on!!!
Burdie, do any of those Hotels have a indoor pool ? I may be able to make it. It only looks like an 8 hour drive or so, but if they family tags along, they are going to need something to do besides spend money at the stores.

Re: THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT is on!!!
Hey I think you asked me that before I am sorry I did not get back to you. Here is what I found out. First we are out in the country here so you may be surprised at the distance to get to the city. The Regency Court Inn is in Arkansas City it has a pool, restuarant, and movie theater close.. The rates are fixed at $85 for two beds. 45 miles away from Caldwell. One place 15 miles away has a hot tub but no town. Now Wichita is 60 miles and has everything possible. I wish I could be more helpfull.

How far is it from Ponca City?
"Imagine you can only know one thing in the world," he says, "and that one thing is that you don't know anything." Quoted by my son to the National Geographic. This is how he realized he had a brain injury from an IED while serving in IRAQ.

Hey Ed it will be a nice 60 to 80 you pick and that will be the temp. In Kansas if you don't like the weather just wait a minute it will change.
