Hello all. I have just launched the California Gold Hunt at the website californiagoldhunt.com

We have concealed an American Eagle coin somewhere in public. Clues will be given online every 2 days until someone finds the coin and is awarded $5,000 in gold. The first hunt is free, and open to all adults. Subsequent hunts will have subscription fees and be available to California residents only.

If this announcement breaks the rules of Treasurenet.com, I beg your pardon. Please do keep in mind that Treasurenet.com is not affiliated with CaliforniaGoldHunt.com

I would like to thank all Treasure Net members who participated in the first California Gold Hunt, which was a big success.

We had a winner on September 15, Catherine McClure of Valley Village, who located a gold coin hidden in a tree knothole in O'Neill Regional Park, Trabuco Canyon, Orange County. Catherine actually drove from her home near North Hollywood early in the morning on the 15th and sat in a Kinko's, refreshing the screen every few seconds, so that she would see the clue the moment it popped up. When it did, she was at the site within ten minutes. And she's lucky she didn't wait at home, because a woman from Trabuco Canyon got to the site just minutes later. While they both searched for a while and thought that someone must have beaten them to the find, Catherine returned to discover the coin concealed in the tree.

For full details, visit www.californiagoldhunt.com and click on "Hunt #1 - September" or "Winners".

Our next hunt will begin November 1, and once again the prize is a guaranteed $5,000 in gold American Eagle coins. Thanks again for your support, and if you're a California resident...get in the hunt!

To all: The California Gold Hunt has had to delay the start of the second hunt, due to the pullout of $15,000 in investor money that is necessary to running an ad campaign and paying for prizes. Until we can secure about $9,000 more money, the hunt is on hold.

If you go to the website to have a look, please do NOT register for any upcoming hunts, because we can not be certain if or when they will start. We have to leave the site up and active to show to potential investors, so that they can see that it is a working site.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we will inform everyone via posts here (or emails if you've registered as a player) when the next California Gold Hunt will begin.

Thank you.
