Cant go to Chisolm Trail hunt+ something important to say...
Hi everyone, my band is playing that weekend and I cant go... although if I stop playing with the band I will be able to go...
I hope you all the best with your hunt!!
I have not been to thrilled at coming to T-Net for a while now and I figured its time to say why... The hunt we had last year was a wonderful experiance, I met wonderful people and made some great friends during that weekend..
The folks who let us have the hunt on there property are the sweetest people you ever want to meet they are in there mid 80's I did everything possible to have a succesful hunt and had planned on continuing to have more..
Well after the hunt the owners address was posted here on T-Net for people to send thank you cards never in a million years years did I think something bad would happen because of that.
About 2 months after the hunt someone sent the owners a copy of the forum posts and my webpage and told them that we made thousands of dollars off of them and the hunt was nothing but a money making scam.
I cant believe someone could be that jealous or low to do that to those wonderful old people. it accomplished 2 things it hurt some beautiful old people and it hurt the people here at T-Net by taking away a wonderful spot for friends to gather. Steve and I lost approx $800.00 from having the hunt because we didnt charge enough money but not 1 time did I ever regret the hunt.
To the person who wrote the letter shame on you, and someday when you grow up dont worry about an apology I have already forgiven you its the other people you hurt that you have to worry about!!
10,000 light years from nowhere, our planet shot to pieces, people starving, and I'm gonna get us in trouble!! Whats the matter with you!?

Re: Cant go to Chisolm Trail hunt+ something important to say...
JD, I'm sorry to hear that this happened. We'd sure love to have you join us for the hunt and good times ahead. We very much enjoyed your hunt and was looking forward to a JD Hunt II. I've learned over the years that not everybody has a golden heart. Fortunately, there's very few that has a lead alloyed one. I'm sorry to hear that the accusations were made and I hope they've had time to look back and reflect on their actions.
Did you send them a PM to tell them how hurt and disappointed you were in their actions? Some people don't stop and think just how difficult it is to put on a hunt and the time and expense involved in making sure that unexpected contingencies are worked out so that everything still runs smoothly.
It's with deep regret that your calendar may prevent you from making an appearance. I'm sure that I can freely speak for everybody in that you will be sorely missed.

It never ceases to amaze me. Sounds like one miserable soul that looks for the negative in everything and if there is no negative they make one up. You know, a person so negative they can't stand having something good happen, there just has to be something bad it it somewhere. What a way to go through life, such a waste.

Hey JD........sorry to hear you are not going to be able to make the CTH and also sorry to hear someone is stupid enough to do what they did. Dave and Lorraine are good people. It just amazes me sometimes, the actions of some folks, other than creating hard feelings....what is it do they think they have accomplished. Anyway, you will be missed at the hunt......play us a tune.

JD has an idea who this piece of trash is,but not knowing 100%,he won't let me make a call and arrange a 'visit' to take place. The other solice that can be taken from this,is the fact that the personnality of this creep will always rear it's head eventually. He'll wonder why his friends leave, why he has trouble at work and why his family life deteriorates. The fact that he is not really a man will always be visible to those around him.If he has children,I pity them, for I can hear him say,"do as I do,go around and tell lies whenever you can. This really makes people love you." Look over your shoulder, creep, you never know what's coming behind you.The only ones hurt here was a terrific old couple, you must be very proud in the knowledge that you are not much of a man.Was this considered an accomplishment you made in this life?I pity you and your life! An 80 yr old couple! I just don't understand it!

JD, I'm really sorry you won't be able to make it - and even sorrier to hear about the hatefulness about last year's hunt.
I don't understand the mentality that wishes to bring heartache to an elderly, generous couple - just because they can, or dissension between friends - just because they want to.
There's some quote that applies, if I can just remember it right: That person is who s/he is, and that's probably punishment enough.
Or something like that.

Re: Cant go to Chisolm Trail hunt+ something important to say...
Sorry you can't make it JD. Your hunt is why I put the wheels in motion for the CTH. As far as the other incident I won't waist print on them.
Play us a tune JD.

for as much happiness and camaraderie that that hunt created its hard to fathom why some ******* would want to drag it through the mud. i guess there is one in every crowd. I'm really sorry JD that this creep has rained on your parade. just remember that so much more good came out of that hunt than bad. everyone that went will remember it for a lifetime. you did a good thing bud, don't let anyone tell you anything different.

this is just me but what you posted WD would constitute a threat (if a minor one at best)
now if that person would come be to bodily harm in a manor of some way
you might have a problem

Thanks,Ed.Yeah,I'd like to be their good health custodian! A threat?Naw!You've completely misinterpreted. It's like you tell someone to be careful when crossing the street and always be aware of your surroundings, etc.'a visit'?Just to ask "why?".No problem.

Re: Cant go to Chisolm Trail hunt+ something important to say...
Sorry to hear this on both parts.
Priorities sometimes get in the way of our hobby and what has to be, must be.
As far as someone ruining the hunt by sending a copy of the forums and packing it with negative comments about you guys making $$$ is pure and simple crap. You worked hard in organizing a hunt for others to enjoy. You spend time making the effort an enjoyable one (although I didn't attend). I know too well organizing events is a real difficult task, did it for 7 years for our DARE Program (as soon as one event was over I began planning 8 months ahead to get the other one off the ground). Anyways, I am sorry that one person bought so much grief onto you, it shouldn't be that way. To the person that did this....does it make you feel good? Hope so, because your shallowness caused more grief.
(Dang this riles me more than I can post!)

JD, I think it would be good for each and every one of us who attended the hunt to personally write a letter to the old couple and express to them what the true feelings of Tnetters are regarding that scoundrel that wrote the letter. Or perhaps a letter with all our signatures? I assure you at least all but one of us (if it was one of us) had no idea what that moronic person had done. What's the link to their address and I will write mine tonight! M nty

Well, poo! There's always one in every crowd, isn't there? I wrote my thank-you card just after the hunt last year and can assure you it wasn't me that did the nasties. WSD, is the suspected person signed up for this year's hunt? Hope not!
Anyway, JD, would love to see you and yours show up this year. You can play in the band any ole time!
I'm assuming you're all healed up now?? Hope so!!

Hi JD,
I wasn't at your hunt last year, but after reading this thread...I just wanted to say that I am sorry for what happened to you.
You are a big man to be able to forgive.
If your band cancels their gig...please come to the CTH.
Take care,
TW
