Re: Caldwell Drive and Chisholm Trail Hunt

Wow! What a weekend! My arms ache, my back aches, face it, everything aches! But I wouldn't have missed it for the world! What fun! Fun yes, sleep NO! I only took a few pics, and I'm posting only a few of those. I hate to post what others have already posted. But, I have to show our fine accomodations (Cough! Cough!) and Nana40 wanted to see the sunflowers. Thanks again to eveyone, for letting me come out and play . . .

Re: Caldwell Drive and Chisholm Trail Hunt

Thanks for the pics of the sunflower fields, Gunsmoke. We missed it!

RidgeRunner, I don't think I've seen anybody have as much fun/excitement/variety as you this weekend! Well, except maybe WarsawDaddy Friday afternoon and Greg on Saturday night. You seemed to really enjoy yourself and gave the rest of us many, many fun and happy laughing moments! Thanks!!!

Schloopy, I am so jealous of your finds I could ... no, I can't say that word here. Thanks for coming and sharing again! You're a great guy!

Nan, thanks for bringing Vickie/Vicki/Vicky. sorry. terrible with name spellings, but, Vickie, you're a bright spot! Thanks for coming and come again! Glad to see you both.

Don't feel left out; I'll slaughter the rest of you later.

Somebody (had to be Charlie) said the hunt was like going to a family reunion ... that you REALLY wanted to go to.

    Amen.

WoW! Thanks for those pics, Lance! You were right! Just breathtaking! I hope to go by there tomorrow and see for myself! Thanks again for posting those!

    Noodle....I was a good girl.

Stoney and Evy...what a great hunt! I know you two worked very hard to help Burdie and I appreciate all the effort. It was a great success and I look forward to the next hunt.

    Yeah...I missed 36 too.

Re: Caldwell Drive and Chisholm Trail Hunt

Stretch and I made it back. It was difficult, every farmhouse we passed, he was eyeballing. There was an old church south of Salina .... I had to restrain him from jumping outta the van .

Although I didn't find anything pre 1900, I had a blast! Burdie, Stoney, et al...when you folks put on an outing, you don't scrimp. The meals were awesome (no one complained about being hungry, and it was superb!) The site selection couldn't have been better. The townsfolk were 100% supportive and a great asset to the success. (There might even be a few converts in the making too).

The highlight for me was JD's 'other' find...thats his story so I'll let him share it with you all when he has time. But I have to say I was as thrilled as JD was. River Rats Happy Dance was heard as far away as Tulsa . TC has another method of the 'Happy Dance' only in true Texas fashion.

Nanahubby, Nana, Schloopy, Ridge Runner, Greg, Gunsmoke, Warsawdaddy, Burdie and I found a spot that had tons of potential caches Saturday night

Lunch with Mastereagle and Baldingboy was outstanding, Strech and I learned more about the Cape area and was glad for their insight and company.

Just as soon as you walk in the door you feel like you have known them for many years. An awesome bunch of people!

Being my first hunt all I gotta say is that it was awesome. Met new friends that share the same hobby and interests. It's late and getting tired. Again thanks everyone.

Burdie, Stoney, and Evy, I just wanted to say what a great time I had and I enjoyed meeting every single one of you that was a part of the hunt. You all are a great asset to our hobby and the world would not be the same without the treasure we all share with one another. Burdie, Stoney, and Evy, everything was first class and
I was happy to be able to partake in the festivities and I hope to be able to make any future hunts. Warsawdaddy and Gunsmoke a big thank you to you both for the rides back and forth from the motel. It was great pleasure to meet each and every person involved. For those of you who were not able to make the hunt I found three indian head pennies 1903, 1906, and a 1907. I hope everyone makes it home safe and God Bless.

Gypsy, borninok (Mel), and Stevesno--we're sorry that things turned out where you couldn't be there in person but rest assured that you were well thought of and we know you were there in spirit.

Didn't get to thank you enough for the AWESOME zipper pulls!!! Thanks for all you help and encouragement. I had such a great time.

Thanks for having lunch with me and BB. It is hard to find people who will talk to us sometimes, let alone sit and eat with us.

You're quite welcome. Although I don't know why they'd think that way, you 2 make a great team (kind of like Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello) Hey Abbotttt! LOL and don't think we didn't appreciate the tab. THANK YOU!

    Stoney,
Thanks so much for all that you, Burdie, Evy and family did for us! I had a fantastic time and wanted to let everyone know that it would be my pleasure to hunt with any/all of you again!!

I got to see the joy on RiverRat's face when she found her coin, and also Texan Connection when he found his silver dollar. What a great day indeed.

I had an especially good time hanging out with Ridge Runner, Eric in KS, and Sleazysnoopy. You guys are a freakin hoot! I had more fun than seeing a circus pony!
(That was for Eric). Mastereagle and I would not have missed the opportunity to run like heck if a boxing match had errupted. Actually, I would have hid under the table.

Anyway, I digress. Good times...good food and good friends. Thanks to all and I look forward to swinging a coil with any of you all.

Borninok! Mel! I apoligize,I apoligize! Starting 3 days before the hunt,I started telling myself not to forget to get Mel a garter.I was still thinking that when we sat down at that table. But when that darlin' leaned over, then came around and kicked that leg up where I could see her tonsils,ol' buddy, all thoughts of you were long gone, sorry, sorry, sorry.I did start to feel bad about it today but I'll get over it by tomorrow.Wish you could have been there, that leg was soooo warm! You want the washrag I washed the lipstick off my forehead with 2 days later?I know you wouldn't have forgot about me at that time,so I feel bad.Take care, buddy, and keep spinning that vinyl we love.(keep us posted on Gayle, please)

That may be true, Eagle. I'm sure a lot of people heard me all over the country. I think it may had been a Rebel Yell, the dance was sorta of a Indian War Dance.

Stoney, thanks for the pics...catching me in action. Gee, all that hand motioning in the U Tube, Lordy I couldn't...just forget it!!

WSD & Lance, Thanks for the candy and sherry Enjoy those hiking sticks and Lance the sunflower pics are beautiful.

Yep, I missed Edd & Theresa too.

JD & TC, man some awesome finds you guys dug up.

Gypsy & Mel, I still have you in my thoughts & prayers...hopefully we will meet at the next hunt.

RR, thanks for donating the propeller...I'm glad I won it too. Yep, I will post a pic of the finished project...won't be anytime soon though.

Oh, the Long Horn Door Knocker...thanks, thanks, thanks!
