An A$$ Speaks out! Sights and sounds of the Chisholm Trail video added!
First of all let me start by saying that I have no special interest
in metal detecting (Big surprise I know). The first trip to JD's hunt in
Otterville, Mo. was something that I dreaded for a very long time. When we
arrived I sat for a couple of hours before anything really started to happen
but then, when it did, it was like magic. I had the best time of my life. I
made what I consider lifelong friendships with people from around the country
that I hope to be able to see at least once a year or more. I really hate to
name names because I fear leaving someone out. During the course of that hunt
there were several of us non hunter's that sat around and talked of our
spouses escapades. And for anyone who is not aware that is how the Abandoned
Spouse Society (A$$) was born.
This year we planned to go to Caldwell, Ks. and I have probably been
looking forward to this more than my wife, the metal detectorist, has. I am
constantly amazed at how people from across the country can come together and
have such a good time. First of all let me say thank you first to JD for
getting this all rolling last year, at least for our group of folks. Now on
to this year... Burdie, I can never repay you for all the hard work that was
put into this hunt, for the frienship that you and your family shared with my
wife and I. I had the time of my life. I have experienced things and seen
things that I would never have gotten to see before. Stoney and Mental Granny
you too deserve a lot of credit and I will cherish your friendship also.
I will never be able to put into words what all you guys mean to me
and my wife. I can't begin to express the flood of thanks and well wishes
that I would like to pass along but I am sure everyone feels the same as me.
Let me tell all the A$$'es out there that this is a magical group of folks.
If you stay home and don't experience this you will never understand. And
remember this is coming from someone who has held a metal detector for about
five minutes in my life & that was while my wife was digging up a Ford Galaxy
500. Hope to see ya'll next year.
Charlie
P.S. I hope to make a video of the sights and sounds of the Chisolm Trail Hunt for fun so look for it in a couple of days.

Charlie honey,
You're one of those "magical folks" yourself, y'know. You have such an infectious smile - it just draws people in, and makes everyone want to share in the fun. :P
It was fun, wasn't it! Lookin' forward to the next time we all get together.

Random chance seems to have operated in our favor
Re: An A$$ Speaks out!
Charlie, it was great seeing you once again. Too bad we didn't get a chance to pan a bit more. If Nana'd seen those flecks in the pan, you'd be up in the Colo. Rockies about now.

Re: An A$$ Speaks out!
Charlie you sure area great guy. I am working on my wife to come to the next hunt with me if she is still around then, I'm hard to get along with. She gets really fussy when I talk about MDing and even more so when I go out and hunt.
Nice meeting you.

Re: An A$$ Speaks out!
Great video, Charlie. I just loved the quick draw competition, the spotted horse, my arrest and the herds & herds of long horns. The a$$ saw what he missed, and he just loved the video too. He just wanted to know why the sheriff didn't keep me locked up longer.

I appreciate that. I wish I could have seen your A$$ this trip. When I first made the video I had different music to it but didn't want the hassle of having to figure out if it was legal or not so I put canned music to it. Hope everyone enjoys.
