CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT 2 is on the Chisholm cattle trail that went through Caldwell. Check the Caldwell site out. http://www.caldwellkansas.com/city_home1.htm

Come and have a time of your life in Caldwell, Kansas. I will start posting participants in June. We hope to have lots and lots of prizes. (Not as many as LA that will be a record for a long time.)
Sign in and pick up your name tags on Friday, Oct. 10, at 1:00 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. at the Caldwell fair building. You can sign up at the hunt site on Saturday if you can't make Friday night.

Only registered TreasureNet members from 7-07-08 and before will be allowed to hunt ($50), family and Friends are allowed to attend for $15. No exceptions to this rule. This is for friends who use the forum at TreasureNet; however, TreasureNet is not directly involved in this hunt. Mentalgranny, and Sniffer are helping with the hunt. Donations or gifts are appreciated thank you. Send to

Use the TreasureNet forum to keep up with what is going on.

There is a $50 registration fee for each hunter. Must be 18 or older to hunt. Non-hunters will be charged $15 to attend. Lots of things for A$$ to do.

The money will be used for food, refreshments, door prizes, and a fee will be paid to the landowner. Participants must sign a non-injury release at the site before they will be allowed to hunt.

The hunt site is on private property. Please treat it as such. The gentleman who owns the property is very pleased to permit the hunt. We feel sure that members will appreciate his courtesy and conduct themselves accordingly. Please follow the rules.
Fees can be paid by PayPal to <[email protected]> Payment can also be made by cashier's check or money order. Personal checks will be accepted. As noted above, the first 50 paid and qualified entrants will be the only TreasureNet members allowed. We will start collecting fees June 1st. Last day to pay fees is September 15th. I highly recommend getting rooms two months before the hunt date. More information will be posted later.

Send payment to: CTH

Re: NEW POST for CTH2 Information about the hunt will be posted here. 10-12 Oct.

Let us get some ground rules out of the way:
You dig a hole you cover it back up.
If you find junk that you don't want to keep then place it in the barrels.
If caught breaking the rules you risk being branded and asked to leave. Enough said on this matter.

Activities available will be posted later. I will be posting the schedule in late May. Getter cinched up guys and gals.

Re: CTH2 Information only please. UP DATES 5/1/08 Hunt on 10-12 Oct.

A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SITE:
History of the site we will hunt. This was part of the Chisholm trail. Just before the cattle drives slowed to a stand still the women of Caldwell threw a fuss about the ladies of the night. So the town had the brothels moved to the creek on the edge of town. It is now called casino creek. I will let your imagination determine what went on there. After only two years there they packed up and off to Colorado they went. The railroad took the area over and had a huge train terminal. They even had a round house to turn the huge engines around. This came to a halt by the 1930’s. A big flower mill was built and ran for 20 years. Nothing is left but some large foundations. It has some open ground to hunt and along the creek are trees. Pictures will be later of the place.

Re: CTH2 Information only please. UP DATES 5/1/08 NO REPLIES PLEASE

On Saturday afternoon we will have a place for the young hunters. It will be marked off with planted items to find. No charge for this hunt. Children can accompany their parents on the adult hunt but not detect. CTH2 is a family affair.

I am working with three groups to offer activities and welcome you to Caldwell. That in it's self is a chore. So please be patient in getting more information out.
We are going to start cleaning some of the area so it will be easier for you to hunt. Some of this area I doubt has ever been hunted. It reminds me of the place TC took Monty and I to hunt. That should get you guys excited. I am talking about the place I found the gold plated pocket watch. Ya Hoo!!!

It was brought to my attention that the Economy Inn at South Haven is not up to par for staying there. I do know the Blackwell, Oklahoma
Comfort Inn 580/363/2911 will be first class. 25 miles. Wellington, Kansas
Steakhouse Motel
Phone 1-620-326-2266 is 17 miles away. I am going to say some thing to them but I can't say it will do any good.

Re: CTH2 Information only please. UP DATES 6/09/08 NO REPLIES PLEASE

I inspected two rooms at the Economy Inn and they seem fine and clean. I would not recommend eating next door though.
We do not have electricity at the camping sight. We do have water.
