Approximately 4 years ago at this one site that has been good to me over the years I found a complete cufflink set, but for only one arm. Since I really have never found more than just a complete one side link of two buttons, I really never gave it much thought or hope of finding the other half.

Then about 2 years ago, I found the 3rd button broken off from the link of the other set of cufflinks. I now had 3 buttons and one link, with just the other link and 1 button to go for my first complete set.

On my hunt there in Septemeber, I got the 4th button and link in the same hole very close to where I found the 3rd button two years earlier. The original find was perhaps 50 feet away in thick blueberry brush ground cover, but overall they were relatively close to each other.

I am fairly certain they date to the 1700's and have seen this identical cufflink design posted over the years being found by others in other states. If anybody else has found this identical style , speak up. :)

Don

Nice followup. Isnt it great when a story culminates in a happy ending? I found some colonial cufflinks this summer. One pair. Lord Rodney cufflinks. British Admiral 1700's. I would like to find the other pair. They should have harvested the corn from that field this week so wish me luck. Of course Kirk or Kyle could very well find it for me. I remember they registered nickle on my analog meter. Good job Don and keep em coming

Don,

Being a Colonial hunter myself, we can't pick and choose our targets, but Don, you sure won the pick! :) They are a nice pair of Colonial artifacts!

There is a coppa there!

Don,
That is a great story...a few years, some detecting and determination and the pay off is a full set of 1700s cuff links...well worth the time and effort. Congrats on three awesome finds.
