Cheap thrill - for half an hour anyway

Here is a coin I found, and the first thing I noticed was the "$1000"
and the gold color.
I was pretty excited, and ran home to check it out on the Internet.

Too bad! It's just worth about $2.00

It's not necessarily what you find, but rather the cheap thrill of thinking
you have hit the jackpot. Even if it lasts just half an hour.

Actually, it is worth even less. That is the "Old Peso" currency, not the new. In 1996 or so, the Peso was devalued by 100 times. It isn't even legal tender in Mexico any more. I had the same problem with an old $1000 Peso bill someone gave me. It is a souveigner/collectible now.
