2 guys made the 4 hour drive north from Kentucky and another guy came 2 hours south today to do some detecting. We hit a total of 3 parks. The last park we hit is where we had the most fun at!

It was great to see these guys again and especially great to enjoy what might be our last warm day of the year!

The last park produced some great finds, but the signals were pretty tricky. The bulk of them that I found would only hit one way and null out the other way. I had gridded this spot pretty hard in the past and came away with a lot of coins, and this time I hit it from the other direction. It's pretty incredible just how many coins you can miss by changing the angle you hit them at! Every time I got a good signal I would turn the coil just a couple inches one way or the other and it would completely null out with all of the iron in the ground. I will probably go back to this spot and experiment with Ferrous tones some time.

I did pretty well in the finds department. My finds were as follows:

30 Wheats
1896 Indian Head
2 Silver Roosevelts (1957, 1964)
1940 Mercury Dime
1892 Barber Dime
LOOM (Loyal Order of Moose) No. 17 - Good For 2 1/2 Cent Token

Between the other 3, I think they found around 10 wheats and a nice 1895 Barber Quarter.

What a great day you guys had. Those are some terrific finds. It is
amazing how moving the coil can make such a difference in the signal.
Congratulations. Doug (blklab)

Great finds! Excellent hunting. That barber looks unusually sweet, nice!

I've been rehunting a spot that has given up silver, and am amazed by how many clads
and memorials I've missed, as well as several wheats, and 4 silvers thus far.
And yes I've been hitting it from a different angle.

Good luck,
HH.

You did real well! Congrats on the nice finds!!

I'm glad you had a fun "group" hunt. That would have made the day a success even without the nice finds... :)

Those one way high hit signals drive me crazy. When I dig them, I usually can't find anything or I get an old piece of iron. ???
