1892 & 1902 Indian Head cent ~ small silver ring ~ silver sprue ~ toy

Ron and I took a little road trip up north from us to do some detecting today ~ we had a great time!! Ron dug a couple Merc dimes, a silver Rosie dime, wheats and clad. I didn't dig any silver coins today, but I did get a couple Indian Head cents ~ 1892 & 1902. I dug a little silver ring (3.6 grams) , five wheat cents, some clad, and a tootsie toy truck. The Indians are kinda ugly, so I took a close up pic of the date area so you can see them better.

One item I dug today I didn't know what it was, but Ron did! He told me it's a SPRUE ~ 12.6 grams of sterling silver! It's from casting silver jewelry.

I've dug 95 silver coins this year ~ I was hoping to get a little closer to my goal of 100, but it wasn't to be! Maybe next time!

Man great hunt guys!!! 95 silvers is no easy feat , you will get 100 before the year is up!!! Congrats on a great hunt!!!

you guys down there in Eugene sure seem to do alot better on the silver than I do here in Salem.Nice job

Sorry you didn't find the silver this trip, Neil.
But you always manage to find other "treasures" that are worth seeing.
The IH's and the tootsie toy truck are cool finds.
I found one of those SPRUES some time ago, but had no idea what it was!!
