    Got A Chunker...

..was in the weirdest place to. A buddy of mine from work wanted to try detecting. So I said ok lets try after work. I had my Quattro and my wifes Ace 150 in the car already. There is a plowed field behind my job that is owned by the church and I had already secured permission although I havent gotten out to it yet. So we tried it. I walked nearly to the middle of the plowed field and got a great target on the quattro. Turned out to be this chunky mens ring.. Weighs 9.2 Grams and is almost a half inch wide. It is huge. He found a stanly razor knife. What a weird place to find a gold ring. It is stamped 14k and has a sideways w next to the k.

Sweet ring find, alot of the old churches had picnic groves near them. Probably an old ball game loss. Congrats

Don't count your chickens just yet... I found a worn ring with the same marking last week and it is definitely plated or gold filled. The ring is also very heavy, so it it somewhat deceptive. It looks like yours has some wear through on the top. Have this one tested just to be sure. I hope it's the real deal!

    Re: Got A Chunker...

May be the mechanic fixing the broken down tractor lost the both of them. That is why I do not wear rings.

    Great find and keep digging.
