I took the liberty of calling the #; the mother-in-law of Robert "Bob" answered the phone. She told me that "Bob" was not home and never in the military and suggested I call Bob's father (Kenneth) who is 88 yrs young. Well, didn't get nothing accomplished there. I will try and contact the AL Post in Madison.

 RR

Don't waste your time calling the # listed above, I called him back on recommendation of his MIL. He was very rude cause he stated someone else had already called him, he then asked what was on the dog tag, when I mentioned serial # without listing the numbers then the next of kin name...he told me they didn't list things like that on dog tags. I told him that they did back during WWII. All he did was say "goodbye" and hung up. >:(

Matteo, are you asking me to delete what I posted about the tag? I found it doing a search on the name and it is public knowledge. If there is a privacy issue, I am sure Marc or one of his moderators will delete my post. I do not fully understand but if you want me to delete the post then PM me and I will do so. HH, Mike

National Personnel Records Center
Military Personnel Records

Tell them of the dog tag, include a photo would be nice and you would like to know if there is a next of kin who would like to have this dog tag. You can give them your contact info and his relative could contact you.

Looking for ROBERT E. GRAY is like looking for JOHN SMITH!!! There are so many. The info I posted above may not even be the one for the dog tag. Was looking for obits, but no luck.

Good luck and let us know if anything comes of it,
Annmarie
