Hello ALL!

Itsn't this an AWESOME HOBBY! I am so so so so so ..... happy with dirt on my knees and under my finger nails! :-P

Anywho... I was at two spots today...

I started early with some nice sliver/gold in the form of this earring... It has a 1990 date and is stamped 925

Within 5 feet this ring popped out... No 925 stamp... so probaly junk...

Interesting mystery coin you've got there. I'd probably try peroxide on it, only to find out it is one of 3 known examples in the world and I've just reduced the value significantly.

Good luck on it!

I don't understand your reply. :icon_scratch: If you can't ID it, you'd never know in the first place! And peroxide won't reduce its value. Take a look at the last find to go up on the Banner and you'll see a copper--one of 3 known--that was put through the peroxide method And will have a Ten Thousand Dollar price tag.

Nothing to lose on the peroxide.

How does it discriminate?

Is it the elusive three cent nickel?

That's a good question!

That last pic looks like you can see the outline of a person. Kinda looks like a seated coin bu should have that patina.

Yep.......Buckles is righteously RIGHT! After the peroxide method was at a standstill.....Went to the olive oil (done by Tony Carlotto), and Most of the crud came off! You have NOTHING to lose! Good Luck Hogge

Great finds!! Indeed, this is a wonderful hobby. Too bad some people are dead set against it for no good reason. When people look at me as if I'm destroying the environment I let them know the ground squirrels are the ones doing the real damage. At least I cover my holes when I'm done!

And yes, I'd try the electrolysis method too. We wanna know what it is!!!! My guess is a capped bust dime. But I'm just an optimist at heart.
