That is the neat stuff, I'd really love to hear "The Rest of the Story" such as where it was found, followed by plenty of wild speculation as to how it ended up there. ;D

Wow, wonder if Kit Carson lost that beauty. You know, while he was riding the range,
some Indians started chasing him and one of his pistols fell out of it's holster. He got
away but lost one of his best pistols.

Just my story and I'm stickin to it. LOL

Is this the one you think it is?

Springfield - Warner's Patent double trigger revolver, on grip number 23, cal. .31 percussion, 5" barrel with fixed sight and loading lever attached to the bottom of the barrel. The revolver was designed to circumvent Colt's patents. It was not successful, and according to Flayderman's Guide # 7A-110 only 125 made. After 150 years there are not many remaining, and this is the first in my possession. It is not marked, and the function might need some adjusting (?) Interesting, between the back
straps a metal plate as shown in the picture.
The metal is grayish, strong traces of varnish
on grips. Very good condition $1,650.
