For you purists out there, this isn't a dug coin . I was summoned this morning by two aunts to look over coins they found around the house. At the second, there was an assortment of mostly silver, including this SLQ. It's a Type II, and can only be one of five possible dates. Though the date's rubbed off, the recessed mintmark remains, from Denver. So, it's one of the following: 17D, 18D, 19D, 20D or 24D. All of them, with a date, are worth nice double figures; if only this one had spent a little less time in circulation :'(. A quick price check puts them, in G-4, from $30-80.

Such is often the sad fate of the finder of the Standing Liberty quarter.

Your fervent prayers are useless, as is your goat sacrifice, and all of your attempts at bribery of the Divine.

You only get to find a high grade Standing Liberty quarter with a date if God thinks you are good looking.

That is not entirely true. I found a 1930 SLQ , and I'm not good looking!

I love those SLQ's. They have some of the prettiest detail, but finding one in decent shape is pretty hard.

I was hunting with Twistidd and TreasureFiend when he found his and it has to be one of the nicest one's I've ever seen. It had to have been dropped the day after it was minted.
