Vermont Copper, 1801 Large Cent

These 2 were found by my friend at our fav. site...posting for him. He found the Vermont this Spring and the LC a couple weeks ago. This is the same site where I got my Massachusetts cent, we have gotten a several KG's, silver French Indies and lots of buttons.

Glad your friend got a decent looking Vermont copper! Wish more were found, that one appears to be a common variety known as Ryder 16, but I just did a quick check and fairly certain, both my son and I have Ryder 16 in our collections, and in about the same condition, so they were most likely made of good copper!

Great Vermont copper and I love those Draped bust coins. I found alot of the Draped bust large cents and half cents this year and can never get enough of em.

P.S. The copper is one of the best I have seen on here. Most of the time, guys find coppas but

Amazing Coins
What I think about is, you (your friend actually) was the next person in 100's of years to touch this coin!
