That's awesome. Anyone have a date/time span for this coin? Looks great even bent. Big congrats!

Just looking at your coin makes my heart skip. Probably a good thing I'll never find one or it would stop altogether.

Congrats on a Banner find.

Hope you find a bucket full of em.

Definately worthy of the banner, these are rarer to find than Celtic Staters. The one I found looked like that & I straighten it myself (Scary task & I don't recommend it, I just wasn't willing to pay £100-200).

I think they are nearer 22-23K, can't remember what Nigel Mills told me now :icon_scratch:

Search that field carefully, we got two Gold Hammered off the same field

BIG CONGRATS & I HOPE 2009 CONTINUES THE ROLL (I think it will)

I'd pay the £200 considering it's worth £975-£3500 :o

An OLDEN GOLDEN coin, the holy grail for us MDers. Hope you find more so those of us in the "new" country can live vicariously through you! :tongue3:

Are you near the village of Over? I don't know where it is in England but that's where my ancesters are from. I bet they dropped some good stuff...

Congrats!

Over is between Otherside and the Hinterlands.

:P

I'm guessing that even though it's on the Finds Banner now  it won't get the number of replies the find deserves--probably because it is not an american coin ::), and also perhaps because it doesn't look as yellow and glittery in the photo as it, in fact, is.

Well, that coin is worth more than 10 common-date american gold coins.

So, I'm going to have to leave another reply. :) Congratulations again.

Best Wishes,

Buckleboy
