I’m still hunting the RxR site and these are my finds from the last several hunts.
The Santa Fe lock was found a few weeks ago, I found another lock but it’s a modern day style lock. I also found a Chinese coin. Can anyone date it?

I found 3 coins on top of iron. If you look closely you might be able to see the rust stains still 2 of them.

Sorry if it has already been posted but where have you been hunting? Is it just along a RR track or is it at a cross road or what? I am very curious. Thanks in advance.

Love the oblique angle pics! ;D ;D

And like others have said, the lock is "TOPS"!! Congrats on making the Banner with that beauty!! :icon_king:

Hope you score more coins and interesting relics at the RR site! Is that the tracks next to the Base?

HH,

Thanks Dan.

No, that's not those tracks. But, that area along the tracks you are referring to is old too. I’ve always eyeballed that area when I go by, even today. Trains have always stop over in that area. The crews take most of their rest stops and switching on the south side of the bridge. They are doing constructing in that area and adjacent to those tracks at this very moment. A good prospect if someone wants to prospect, you know it was active, just look at what was once there.

Either Ming or Qing (shing) dynasty. The new ones are aluminum....Woh wei shoa putunghua. What may be of interest to some is a small statue that I bought off of a street vender that turned out to be real. It was probably stolen from a collection of 7 ancient pieces of old myth characters. This one is a (saint) of the old. He is Zhang Guolao who rode all over China on a donkey promoting peace and good will to all...Also Ming dynasty....

Great Finds!!! Especially like the humorous coin - could it be an old brothel coin? Reminds me of some others that I have seen.
Chinese coins are dated by the king's years of reigning. The one you found is from 1736 - 1795. (that is the side with the 4 Chinese characters on it.) On the other side is located the mint.....and that one is the Board of Public Works mint, the 2nd most common mint
of that time. A common coin, but in great shape, and a good find......especially finding it in the U.S. (I live and hunt in S. Korea, and have found many, many of the same kind of coin, some variations of mintmark. But, I get a kick out of finding a coin 300+ years old.)

Again, way to go. And, if you ever have the opportunity of getting over to this side of the world, contact me, and I will be more than
happy to take you on a Korean coin site hunt.
