Almost gave up due to the heat ....glad I didn't !!!

Found this today at a local park...not sure of the metal content ..what's even more puzzling is the inscriptions on it..the same are on the inside ..the inscription almost looks like middle eastern....and cant make out if its gold..nickel or what the makeup of the metal in it is.? What has me puzzled still is the nicks in the side of the ring show through below the surface with the gold coloration still showing through. If it's some other sort of metal shouldn't the metal show through if its gold painted or plated with some other substance ??? It is definitely heavy though.? Anyone got any ideas or suggestions ?

If that is one of those Lord of the Rings Rings, that was a very nice find. Probably a collectors edition or something.

Very nice! How deep was it?

I found it in a playground under the kiddie swings...in the wood chips..just below the surface about an inch down.

Well a easy way to find out is go to a pawn shop and ask their help in testing it. They should be nice about it ...most are. And let us know! Were all hoping you got the real thing there! Not a cheapy. Good luck! ;D

Its a standard give away that came in a ton of those Lord of the Ring toy packages. Probably worth very little, I believe it is gold color paint over pewter.

Inscription translation...

the inscription on your ring is Elvish, and it translates to the following:

"One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them.
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

You are actually quite fortunate in finding this ring, as you can now rule all of Middle Earth!

My Precious ! Mine .. Mine .. MINNNEEE.
Ahahha cool find - From the looks of the casting line in the center though, its a safe bet its likely pretty much costume jewellry.
