Yesterdee, Poking Froze Dirt fer a Diamond Ring, Taday, Relic Huntin in tha 70's

That’s right!

Yesterday I was at tha girls softball complex chopin froze dirt
with my new digger I made.

2-5-3.jpg

I tried around tha dug-outs, but tha rootless ground was harder
than ice.

So I decided to hunt tha grass where tha parkin lot slopes off
at tha edge.

This was easier at dig, but it was solid tabs.

2-5-7.jpg

I was cold and tired. I was cleanin out a spot with multiple
signals, and look what came out!

2-5-8.jpg

Tha diamonds are real. Don’t know what tha red stones are.

2-5-10.jpg

Now that made my day. I am still charged up about that ring.

My new digger is tha best hand digger I have ever used.

2-5-6.jpg

One day later,

They were callin for warmer weather, so I took a nap and at
11:00am I was relic huntin at one of my spots down tha road
from my house. It’s under construction, but tha work seems
to have come to a stand still.

I was itchin at get tha Vaquero cranked up.

2-6-14.jpg

I got a shock right out of tha car. My first target was a tab signal.
I thought, “well here we go again”.

But look what came out of tha ground.

Fresh dug:

Cleaned up:

Usually, I have a hard time finding more stuff when something
like that happens.

So I buckled down and got in a zone.

Then I found my only coin for tha day. A 1921 wheaty.

2-6-9.jpg

Then I found this old farm implement.

2-6-2.jpg

2-6-7.jpg

Well, I seemed to be doin alright.

And then I got a trashy iron signal. But something said dig???

Lookie what I found,,,,,,,,Heee Heee,

2-6-3.jpg

2-6-12.jpg

OK, what’s next???

How about a brass belt buckle????

2-6-10.jpg

Not bad, hugh???

Now I find a lead what’s-it with a paten number. I will have to
clean it some more before I can read tha number.

2-6-11.jpg

Here’s tha mess. Some of it didn’t make it this far. I chunked
some of it in a construction debris pile.

2-6-4.jpg

Here’s some I cleaned a little.

2-6-13.jpg

By 2:00pm, I was off to lunch before pikin up tha kid.

Now, That was a lot warmer, hugh?

Thanks for comin along on my Arkie Relic Hunt,

Tabdog

Sweet digs tabdog!! That ring is shweet. I passed up a few of those pull tab infested areas today and ended up with nothing but a pocket of pull tabs. Now I want to go back to my "hunted out, hunted out" spot.

great find on the ring, like the other things too. The gemstones in the ring look like garnets or rubies. Could be either one, as both come in different shades depending on their quality and clarity. Either way if it is real it gets a girls pressure up a little. Thanks for posting. Good luck tomorrow.

Hey Tabdog, don't shrug off that garden mulcher you found. I've seen those things bring a few dollars at the antique stores. Although it's rusty, it looks to have a lot of life left in it. They work wonders in the garden. I saw somone take a cherry branch and attach it to one of those. It really made it look old and cool. You could also attach it to a bicycle frame and make it a hand culivator.

Nice digs! That bullet you found looks like a Civil War Austrian rifle bullet. Carefully measure it with dial calipers or something similar. If it measures out to be about .69 inches it is .69 caliber and worth around 100. or more, so treat it with care, and keep it in nice shape. Also check nearby where you found that one you will likely find more dropped bullets. At one of my hunting spots I dug three dropped .69 Austrians in a one foot radius.

If you get a chance I would like to see a side view and bottom view of it, this will help in positive identification.

Good Hunting,
Steve
