i found this item in my front yard a few inches down, don't know if it is an old button, jewelry, or what....do you know what it may be? it is spherical and cut into quadrants, looks like it may be copper..... i have found over 20 wheat pennies in my yard, the oldest is 1939, probably around 40 memorial pennies, bullets, parts of collectible costume jewelry (BSK) and a few quarters, dimes and nickels, tons of pop and beer tabs and nails, bolts, etc all in the past couple months.....there isn't much left though

yeah i was pretty happy when i found it, especially cuz i didn't know what it was for sure.....the mystery is part of the fun!!! i have found a lot of stuff with the hundred dollar detector that my wife and kids got me for fathers day, its a Bounty Hunter Pioneer EX from Wal Mart, i have found some coins pretty deep tho, i guess it's partly just how you use it thohopefully i can move up in the world around xmas!!!! yesterday i found a ring that my mom lost in a flower garden almost 45 years ago, just gold plated with fools gold stone but lots of sentimental value, probably my best find just for that reason....

here's a pic of the ring

I found one of those little jungle bells once and it was smashed. It looked like a flower until I looked at it under a magnifier and figured out what it was. I gently pried it open and now it looks just like yours. JIM

Having a better detector would be great, but being a good detectorist is even better. Good finds and HH! Chris
