Well its a little late but better late than never, I haven't had a camera until today so I just went and bought me a new one. Well myself bobby and Adam went back for the 2ND day in La. to hunt the private land we had permission to, bobby and Adam came out with alot of frags and bullets between the both of them but we only had about 4 hours to hunt on the 2ND day so we didn't come out with that much.

I got 1 Gardner bullet
2 sniper bullets
7 3 ringers
1 poker chip
1 something or another piece of lead
My 2ND 12 pound boreman cannonball (this time nonexplosive) Thank god
2 bigger than normal canister shot
a comb I think :icon_scratch:
and a what is it

I never would have thought how you had to get these bullets and other relics you cant find them surface hunting you have to dig sorta like a hut basically a 6x6 foot hole anywhere from 4-5 foot deep b4 you ever hit lead. We are planning on going back it will just be a while 16 hours was a long drive 8)

Thanks for looking

Nice hunt and finds! You did well taking the pictures with a new camera. Is the poker chip that round piece of lead? HH, Mike

Hi,
Those "bigger than canister rounds" are grapeshot. I had found a couple during relichunting and being a beginner did not know what I had. Showed them to an experienced relichunter and he told me they are grapeshot. According to Google a canister was "a tinned-iron can full of iron or lead balls". Grapeshot "has fewer and larger balls, held together with iron rings or trussed up with fabric and twine". The canister held about 28 rounds while the grapeshot was 5 or 6. Cannot even imagine the courage it took to attack an entrenchment in formation knowing cannons would be firing grapeshot or canister rounds.
Have a nice day and happy hunting.

The poker chip is the smashed piece of lead that is folded they would often take a 3 ringer smash and fold it to make a poker or chess piece.
