Working an old dump site off of a farmers field and came across a glass, I think brake light cover.

No markings; think it will be a lot of work trying to figure out what type of auto or truck it came from.

Have to find someone who is working on an antique auto that could use it.

Decided to change the subjet line from BRAKE LIGHT COVER to SPACE SHIP LANDING LIGHT.

The area I was hunting did actually have some reported sighting of lights in the sky on Fri. night. It was on the local new this morning. So..................................................

Lights seen on Fri night; I find this THING on Sat.; Think I will put it up on e-bay and see what it brings.

Your quite right! Someone could use that, It is part of an old breast pump. Most likely a collectable one at that due to the unique color. Some of the earlier ones are more valueable due to the sun turning the glass shades of purple! Good Find! Maybe more there. Keep us posted.

By all means leave the title as it is. The title you picked will hopefully draw in others, maybe even a collector of this particlular piece of americana. Be careful digging further in this old dump, there just might be a cache of these in there. Keep us posted.

Actually it reminds me of an old 12 volt lantern my grandad had at one time. It could be switched from lantern to flashing red light or both at same time. The red light could be tilted either up or straight back.

I agree with Stoney, my Uncle worked for Frisco RR and I remember he had several lanterns with the red lens on one end.

This is a lens cover for a marker light used on trucks up until sealed beam marker lights became available. These lenses have been used from the 30's to the 80's on most trucks. Being red it was used on the back end. They used a stiff wire lock ring to hold the lens in place. I've been a truck driver for over 30 years and all my trucks had this type of marker lenses.

Well, if this isn't someting! We got several positive idenifactions here. UFO landing light---- Brest pump attachment-----light off pickup truck---- an an old RailRoad lantreen part. Do we need a poll on this one?

I might as well offer my opinion. it looks to me like a taillight lense from an old pickup, like an reo or something like that, ford and gm had easily identifiable lense shapes, but some of the smaller companies used a mass produced light fixture from a third party manufacturer. If that is the case it would have been held on by a metal bezel. the latest model vehicle i have ever seen with a glass taillight lense was a 1959 vw bug.

No, not off a pickup. I never understood why people call a pickup a truck. I'm talking about a Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Ect. 18 wheeler type of truck.
