That's neat. You could make a candlestick holder from it, or put it in your ear when you start to lose your hearing. I'm sure there are many uses for it. ;)

It's a "Vincent Bach 18" mouthpiece for the French Horn. It's probably considered a student, rather than a professional mouthpiece. I believe they are silver-plated. Maybe some kid who was being forced to take lessons and be in the band, by their parents, buried it on purpose! ;)

You're not gonna believe this but I also found silver things...Front one is beat up and appears to be solid silver,says CONN 4...Back one says VINCENT BACH 7C....both are quite heavy on the mouth end.

that piece is probably "solid silver",

I'm not positive but,

a LOT (in fact most) pieces like that are solid silver,

I'd bet $$ that it is!
