Found someone's heart today....

Went out today to three different areas. First stop was another old bridge next town over. Found lots and lots of junk and 29 cents. Must have been used as a dump after it was closed down. I found broken plates and broken insulators etc...Second stop a park in the same town. Found my first ring! Just a little kiddie ring but it was a first for me. And then a little change to go with it. Last stop was an old home place on the side of a mountain. Only chimney and part of the foundation showing. Lots and lots of tin and broken pottery and such. Found an old file and what looks like the top of a fence pole and what was left of a leather boot...the ground ivy was growing to no end there and the snakes are still out....so needless to say I didn't stay long. I can wait on this one till winter!

Nana ;)

Re: Found someone's heart today....

Nana,

sounds like you had an interesting day. Did you do any digging at the 1st dump site?

Whenever I find a dump site

with items from 60-70's I will dig a few small trenches down to about 4-5 inches to see if I come up with any older

glass shards, (thicker glass); sometimes and newer dump is on top of the good old stuff.

have a good un.............

Re: Found someone's heart today....

How 'bout that mg! ;)

Sherman...I didn't expect to go relic hunting or bottle digging today so I didn't have a proper digging tool.

Really thought I was going back to the wood chips today...but that didn't happen....

I do realize that my finds so far are frivolous...but...I'm having a great time! :)

Thank you all for the kind replies.... ;)

Nana ;)

Re: Found someone's heart today....

Cool finds nana!! At least it isnt Poison ivy :-[ the relics are definetly older :) You may want to try electrolysis on the file, theres prolly a makers mark on it somewhere where the handle goes. looks like a great place to find old relics and coins :)
