Can't believe that the dates the thing you can see on your coin, does look like a 1730. Congrates!

I guess this one is definitely a counterfeit one?

Tough to say....soil is not kind to coppers around here.
I weighed it on my father's shotgun shell reloading scale and got 101.2 grains....that converts to .231 oz. does that help in telling real from counterfeit?

Man that is a oldie.

I'd say 1730. It's a great early find. Beats my oldest by 40 yrs. RI is one old place to be at.

don't quote me on this but I think anything 130grains or less is counterfeit... I'm far from being a expert an I'm going on memory....

I think you are close on that weight. 101 grains seems much to light. Looks like 1739 to me. Either way it is a great copper!

the shape that coin is in..I wouldn't touch other then some tooth picks an mag glass..do not use water an soap

i would clean it up with my one very long fingernail. i keep it very long for the purpsoe of cleaning big pennies. i average about 50 or more per year.
