Yes today was even better than Wednesday this week, (that is another story about another Black Powder gun that I also bought) today my Friend Mike who lives in Natal, his son came through the town that I live in, anyway he told me that he had a few old guns that he wanted to sell, thus I had a look and I then bought this old Brown Bess from him, it is an original gun and not a copy, it is still in a working condition as well, here are a few pic's to show you all what it basically looks like, I recon that I paid a very good price for it as well, in our currency it cost me R5 500.

If my conversion is right, that's about $607 U.S.

That would be a real "Steal".

It's beautiful.

Cabala's here in the states will sell you a brand new one (repro) for $999.00 for your firing pleasures

You got a good price for that one to add to a collection.

I have a few old ones myself, a lot of foreign guns sell here quite cheap.

I bought a really fine .577 Enfield a few years ago, sort of looks like that one you got there.

Better than a great gun, that is an EXCELLENT gun. Extremely historical and in it's day was THE longarm to have in a fight.

Thank's for all the interest shown, I found a bayonet for it yesterday, my friend came around and said to me, "Simon look what I have got for you, it is the real thing, but there is no cover for it, they seem to be very rare, however it does not matter because when I have the gun mounted against the wall when it is not in use, I will also attach the bayoney to display as well.

Bought another old gun yesterday as well, it is a 1750 Blunderbuss, will show you all some pic's later.

Dinner time now have to go and eat.

The musket would be about 160 years old. Considering the age, it is in immaculate condition! You may consider removing the butt plate as some soldiers hollowed out the stock and placed personable items in them. For the price of around $600.00 USD, I would think that is a great deal. If it has a serial number you might be able to get the exact year it was manufactured and where. Good deal and HH, Mike

Send me your postal address and I will post you some seed and instructions for free, but be warned they do take a while to grow, do a web search Tamboekie Thorn Tree, this type only grows around here in Queenstown South Africa on Earth.
