[dave in iowa]

got out to an old farm yard , house is gone but the ground has not been touched , i found 12 wheats , 2 mercs , a 1954 mex. coin some clad and what i hope is an old copper , probably not out here in iowa , soaking in olive oil now,

I'm 99% sure that is a old copper penny...probly goingto be to messed up to find any detail on it... I have a late 1700's large cent that was only id'd by the weight an a few letters left on the rim...

Hit that puppy with the hot peroxide for a while. Cant really make it any worse. Looks like a large cent to me. You can almost see the wreath on the reverse in the second picture if you look hard enough. Cant tell which type though. Nice finds.
