What's In Your Wallet?

I went out to the woods near my house today hoping to find an old foundation to detect. Observing as I went along, a white object at the base of a tree caught my eye [weird]. I went closer to investigate. It just looked like trash when I got there but I took a swing with the Prizm IV anyway. The tone came in at copper and ¢.25. I scraped away the leaves and the duff and found 2 wallets. Inside were a couple of pitiful bills that had begun to disintigrate and several nice coins:

It turns out that the object that caught my eye was a white purse. It must have been out there for quite some time considering the newest coin was a 1953. Hmmm... maybe some hunter dropped his pocketbook.

Not much that wasn't just falling apart. The driver's license just flaked away in my hand. You'd think there at least would have been a comb or lipstick or something.

That's just way cool. When they drained a lake in Denver, a couple of hunters found wallets. At least you could explain that they had fallen overboard while sailing. Your find is a mystery. Spooky. Weird.

That is a great find. It is amazing that it has lasted this long in the elements.

Re: What's In Your Wallet?

humm a lost in the woods 1953 or later -- white purse with the contents intact (too bad the drivers id crumbled -- might have been very very important ** ) -- I can not help but wonder if there is a 1950's era "cold case" linked to it -- local missing persons case --since the money is there so "robbery" wasn't the reason -- woman dragged into the woods --purse thrown away during the attack -- ( there just might be a bunch of very old human bones near by on the surface or shallow buried grave ) in those woods .----- so keep an eye out when your in that area. .
