I Struck Silver!

Today I hunted an old park and for the first few hours only found newer coins. I then decided to hunt another area of the park where there were some big old trees. I was soon rewarded with a high flutey signal. I dug about 5 or 6 inches and found a 1905s Barber Dime. Silver number one for me this year. Soon I got another promising signal not too far from where I found that old dime. I dug down about 8 inches and found an ornate silver thimble. The inside said "STERLING". Under that was a five-point star and the number 8. I figure that thimble might be as old as that dime. Pretty exciting finds!

Here are my finds (minus the trash I also dug)

Found a few thimbles with the same mark, haven't looked 'em up, they're beaten and flattened, your thimble is looking great!

Nice digs Dan!

I'm definitely going to go back to that area and see what else I can find. I didn't cover the whole area and I also have the feeling something else might pop up.

Thanks for the Congrats John and Everyone who has left comments.

Thanks, LaDigger/Helo! Praise from you is an honor. Yeah, I finally cracked the silver barrier the 4th time out. It's a real confidence booster. That's for sure. :icon_sunny:
