Howdy all,
Tried yet another field today for a couple hours. Although it was cold at least it was fairly dry. Along with the usual clad and trash, I managed a few neat items. First was the Westclox Pocket Ben watch. When I first got the signal I thought I had another old lock and was chucklin to myself. What a nice surprise when it turned out to be a watch. I found an ad for the watch from 1921 to ad a little history to it. Also managed a neat lead seal or token. Has an eagle on the front and on he reverse says " U.S. Navy 1862-2000. Last was a silver plated trumpet mouth piece. Its heavy enough I thought it might be sterling at first. But it has no marks to indicate content. I did a little research and found only silver plated ones made by the same manufacturer. The mouthpiece is marked Blessing 7C. Also managed another fired .58 caliber 3 ringer. Not bad for a couple hours. Luck in the hunt.
