today's stuff

today i went in the back yard and did some detecting... i started near the sand box that my dad is trying to get rid of. checked the sand and nothing was there. wandered around a bit and found a shotgun shell that says REM-UMC SHURSHOT NO12. came back to near where the clothesline is and saw something shiny peeking out of the ground a little bit. grabbed it and it was a purty blue marble! i then went on to find lots of junk near the clothesline lots of nails and unknown pieces of junk metal.

Those UMC shells are pretty old, I believe. I have found several at old homesites.

Keep digging the rust and all signals. Some of those iron signals could be a horse shoe or oxen shoe. You will learn what your detector is telling you and you will also find some very nice relics. It just takes time and digging. That marble is a beauty too.
