Hunted my favorite wooded area again today. Found some nice coins along the ridge of a hill. A really nice 1918 Standing Liberty Quarter was found at only two inches deep. This coin could be graded AU. Still has luster, especially on the reverse. A nice Barber Quarter was found about 4 inches deep. It's got a full liberty on the headband and could be graded fine. A Mecrury dime was found 3 inches deep in coal ash dirt. I wouldn't know what to grade it as the surfaces of the coin are kind of crusty.

Here's the blazing Stander:

Congratulations skierbob. That's a nice looking 1918 Standing Liberty Quarter
and Barber Quarter. I really like it when someone else says they found them
woods hunting. The coins don't seem to go to deep and once I was on a side hill
I had scraped the leaves away with my shoe and there was a silver barber half looking
at me.

You had a terrific day. Three silvers, and one (the SLQ) as good as they come. Congratulations!

The Walker and the Barber look great, and the Merc doesn't look too bad either, those are coins to be proud of!

Great coins! Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Variety 1 discontinued after 1917? I never saw the "exposed breast" variety after 1917.
