Hi everyone. Thanks for viewing my posts. I have sure grown to love this little web site and am meeting some great people on here. :icon_thumright: I posted my second silver recovery in today's finds a few days ago. You all said the silver would come easier now, and it did. I dug a 63 D Rosey. I was really excited. I did not think I would top the feeling I had when I pulled that 41 merc out of the ground but, today changed that! I Broke 1800 Today! :hello2: :wav: I was hunting an old field when I had a bite and pulled half a spoon out of the ground. :icon_scratch: Maybe silver , who knows? I continued on a few more steps and bang! Iron, penny, dime! I was digging this one for sure! Packed in the dry caked clay was an 1867 Indian Head penny 5" deep! :o :o :o This only happens to other Tnetters not me! I think this might be a key date but, not quite sure. Anyone have a grade or price on this one? It does have a full Liberty on the band! I am soaking the penny in Distilled water hoping to break up the 100 plus years of mud caked to it. I cant stop smiling! ;D :D

Nice Indian. Wish I could find one. I haven't found an indian in years. Just not looking in the right places I guess.

Sweet HI you found there. From what it looks like so far in the pic it should be a least G grade but it should get better after the cleaning....Matt

So at the very minimum it is worth $50.00? :o Wow She is soaking in distilled water. Sure wish there was a faster way. I will repost her after her bath. :icon_sunny:

Nice IH. I found an 1867 a few years ago, but yours is in better shape. It should clean up nice. Great semi-key coin! WTG

You could try peroxide. It works great for me. Just keep an eye on it. Dont leave it in too long.

Sweet Indian! Welcome to the 1800's club I am a new member myself. Check out cleaning and preservation forum about peroxide it works miracles but you need to stop before you loose the patina.
