Hello everybody...

had to wait till late afternoon to get back on the road due to workmen on site ??? the ground now was baked very hard due to the very warm weather :icon_sunny:

had another hammered this time a cut scottish quarter (not quite sure which monarch) three more Roman bronzes came up but only one with any detail ::)

Then had a great find out of the rock hard groud, Celtic Terret ring with drop down fixing bar (1st Century) this is a first for me, then just nearby the best of the day :headbang: Roman Bow Brooch in amazing condition and the pin intact, it's so well preserved I could proberbly get the pin to rotate with a little soak and patience ::) have a look at the pictures :thumbsup:SS

That road is unbelievable. You need to stay on this one. Good ancient finds well preserved. Roman that is just amazing. You will dominate the banner bar if you keep this up. Way to go Silver Searcher. I would hate to be selfish but when dealing with treasure I would wrap my site in secrecy. :notworthy:

Hi TN...I know what you are saying, but the road is well known to detectorists, but for some reason not a lot are showing up or there are just not interested to put the effort into the spoil heaps :dontknow:

Don't think so on this one, local imatation of the radiates tend to be much thinner(tin like)and have poor detail, this one's a thick bronze coin.

I do, I have plenty of thick radiate imitations. Look at the radiate & the lettering

Doesn't really compare to the other lovely finds anyway!!!

Do you think the Celtic Terret has casting defects? or is it a build up? I like this more than the Brooch, much rarer find. I only have a couple!

Yes build up, it's also on the coin, heavy iron deposits in the sandy soil. Strangly the brooch was not far from it :icon_scratch:

Hi thanks for the comments :hello: I take all my pictures by hand using macro mode and natural light, Pentax optio 450 (which I bought from the states) the camera has a very good auto focus in super macro mode, you can also change the focusing area on the camera from wide to spot, which is ideal for coins  hope this helps a bit
