I went back to Silver Lake were they have the street and sidewalks torn up.
The ring has a 14k stamped inside.
I get different VDI readings.One direction it comes up 59 & 61 and another angle it's 48 to 51 showing it's a ring. I don't think it's 14K But some gold turns brown.
I got a 1941 Mercury Dime and a marble.
The bobcat driver told me another guy got some silver dimes and a
2 cent coin From the dirt pile they have been moving around.

I'm not saying that a brown ring with a marijuana leaf on it isn't gold, but I'd be skeptical! ::) Nice finds though, way to go on taking advantage of the construction!

Are you sure the only marks inside the ring is 14k? there isn't a 14kgf or 14kep? That ring looks plated to me... Hope it turns out to be soild gold tho...

I used sandpaper on the edge and it shines.
I might take it in to get tested.

Cool finds...
On the ring, it's a typical tourist sale ring made in Mexico. Sold to the unsuspecting as gold. Naturally if y ou scrape or use sandpaper on the edge, it will look shiny or like gold. When all polished up, it would fool the unkowing...but it's brass. Since it's a pot leaf the buyer probably didn't care, cause it was no doubt sold cheap for being "gold" and looked cool!

If someone dug a two-center, go back, actually stay there. You'll be posting some real crazy stuff soon.
