Hi there, I found this stamped brass thistle(?) at an old colonial site in Utica, Indiana. I know that the thistle is a Scottish symbol, but I dont know much more. Does anyone know what this could have been used for? Is it military or civilian? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and HH!

Hello.....It's definately old.. But I don't think it's a thistle!? ?I believe it is a chinese Fan if you look at the left side you can see what looks like it would be small rivits and? a flower patern on the face .The chineseused flowers on much of their products ,still today they do.... many chinese people were workers here in the early 1800's and it may have been something lost by one of them....
