Hammered, it's not a pipe tamper, it's a hook thing!

Good showing Shaun.. Those big fields are daunting.

I've had an eye on one just on the outskirts of my village, but never saw ever a single person on it, and sits right in the path of history. One of the last pieces without a factory or a housing project on it. Always mention it to my wife when we pass it for the last 10 years. "That would be a great field to hunt." I always say.

Yesterday, I'm in my kitchen with my wife and my friend hiding from the afternoon heat with a beer, and I see out the window way out down in the valley in the next town's area a tractor plowing a field making a big cloud of dust, at around 2 kilometers away. I get the binoculars and confirm it. I want this friend with me to get a detector and for us to make a detecting team together, so I'm talking up the virtues of asking the farmer we see in the binoculars for permission to hunt. My friend is a local, I'm a foreigner, so it would be better if he did it.

So, my friend suggests, "Why don't you just ask your landlord's brother for permission to do his big field just on the outskirts of our village?"

I shoot darts at my wife and ask her, "Why didn't you ever tell me this before that this was our landlord's brother's land?"

She replies, "You never asked me."

I'm in Italy. You know, that Roman place, that doesn't produce any Romans. You got to go to the UK to find any Romans, you know....Anyway, it was way too hot to even open a beer, today.

Actually, I have yet to get started really getting into this area. I'm doing research, scouting around for where I think I'd like to put my best efforts..Just doing my hectare and the neighbors, with some old stone collapsed buildings, grazing, abandoned vineyard, house, and forest lands. Nice variety for practice.

I was a beach MDer in Asia for years, (Bali, India, Thailand). Dug everything that binged on my White's, and paid for my life style, mostly. You learn to love 22k and rave beach parties, the morning after. People seem to lose a lot of jewelery and money, besides their minds, at these parties. Nothing like a few thousand people bouncing up and down for 8 straight hours in the same small area.

Now, I'm practicing with the Tesoro Vaquero, which I chose to eventually give to wifey or a friend, and then get the Goldmaxx Power when I get a grip on all these different sounds and coils.. I've just found out that hot rocks sound like gold coins, well actually they sound like everything good...Spent hours digging in hotrock bedrock looking for nothing....The funny thing about a hot rock, that I never expected, is that the pin pointer won't sing when they meet.
