Ok this was a wonderful week for both metal detecting and Coin Roll Hunting. Earlier in the week i found a 1907-d Barber dime, the next day i foudn a 54-d Rosie. Then on Thursday at the local Fairgrounds, i found two mercs a 1934 and a really nice 1920-s. The 20-s was encased in asphalt, but came out real nice. not nicks or scratches. On Friday while putting my paycheck in the bank, i noticed two silver edges in the coin tray in the drivethrough window. I asked the teller to just give the all the halves she had in the tray, $8.50 or 17 halves. At first she pullled the two silver ones out and said she didnt know what they were, (they were walkers) but i kindly told her i take them anyway. She asked if i wanted the rest of the halves she had $160.00. I told her," no i just want the ones in the tray". As im driving off i look at the 17 halves and notice that 14 of the 17 are silver and that the two i noticed were heavily worn Walkers, and the rest were toned Kennedys, hence why i couldnt pick them out. (I was in the drive through window and they were 6 feet away, I was impressed i noticed the two Walkers.) I turn around go back to the bank and buy the remaining 160.00 she had. I looked through them in the parking lot and found 82 of the 320 were silver. 10 of them 90% including one Franklin and 9 1964 Kennedys, the rest were 65-69 40% Kennedys. Wow 96 Silver half dollars. So to wrap the week up i go out for a short hunt this evening and pull a 1917-d Merc from the same Fairgrounds. I also pulled 3 indians from this fairgrounds this week. What a week for silver.
