First "Recover and Return"

Had the opportunity yesterday, along with hunting partner Colorado2 to search for a silver earring with a garnet, lost by a woman over four years ago. So, I took a few hours off from my "real" job to share in this recovery effort. Fortunately, her front yard, where she believed she had lost it, was realtively small!? Searching for a specific item is work compared with just digging those other "true" signals.? After an hour of hunting, I located the below earring, giving CO2 and me the chance to do some more relaxed hunting.? Adding to this earring recovery and return to a grateful owner, was
my first gold find as well!? Another earring, with 42 intact peridot stones.?Colorado2 will be adding pictures of that earring to this post later. Just goes to prove that a few hours off work in the middle of a day is really good for a soul! ~MB36

Cool hunt, guys! Kinda gives you a wam feeling when you can make a return like that. Then to get something even better in return makes it all worthwhile. HH

OK MB36...Here's the Peridot earring pix. The setting is definitely solid gold and cleaned right up. The stones are actually bezel set. Too bad there wasn't two of them ;D. Now if you're done making me look like a rookie, I'll consider coming out from under the porch and try and run with the big dogs again. :D Congratulations on two terrific finds!!!~CO2

Re: First "Recover and Return"

I know what you mean by it being hard to find a specific object. I looked for a $5,000.00 diamond ring for nearly two weeks and never did find it! Looks like it would be easy knowing the generel area and knowing it would be right on top of the ground. Of course I don't know if someone else found it and kept their mouth shut? Being half of a set, did you run the remaining earring under your coil and discriminate out everything else or how did you go about finding it? Monty

Re: First "Recover and Return"

love hearing the stories of the returned items. I'm waiting for the ace250 delivery next week and have been asked to scan a yard for a woman who's husband lost his ring in it last year. I just hope im up to the task. STILL HAVE TO LEARN THE MACHINE!!! What a better way I guess.

GOOD JOB MB, and what a extra find!!!! EXSOLENT.
