Hello all,
I was at a big cook out/barbecue and a friend had lost his wedding band. I said I would find it.... Lost in the mud at the time the hay and mud that was put down was pushed around by a bulldozer. I was looking for his lost wedding band we were looking around for about 1 hr and not finding his ring. Hopes are getting less and got I get a good signal in the silver dime range right in the road. I thought not likely a big tungsten band but maybe. So I dig it up and my friend and his wife are watching me. I'm holding it my hand I think it can't be anything good that small. Likely a piece of a pulltab.... :P I wipe away some dirt and it whipped clean like silver. Then it hit me, is this a seated half dime... I say to my friends, it is omg its a half dime from the 1800's. We all are like Holy crap !! Its in good shape and has some detail. However it has some black tone on it but that's ok. I have found my first Silver Seated Half Dime turned out to be 1850 !! This also ends a long drought of silver... Maybe my oldest coin to date too.
WHOOO HOOOO !!!
Here are some pictures !!
Keep @ it and HH!!
