Go get a Coinvalues Magazine. they have a 1969S list as xFine 10,000 AU-5015,000 ms60 brown 40,000 the 2010 redbook has the 1969 s DDO as the 1969 S being doubled

I hope your are right. My Mom found it and they're ready to book a trip to Hawaii with the $$.

I wouldn't get to getty yet... there is only less then 20 coins known to exist.. I can or can not say if this is a 1969S DDO or not I'm not expereinced enough to know...

I agree. I'm sure there are some experts on here. I also email Ken Potter from his website. I'll see if he has time to get back to me.

Yur so right...and yes...Ken potter would tell you what it is too...that is a double struck...Fairly common.

I agree that the doubling on the date is fairly common but I haven't seen such an extreme example of the LIBERTY doubling on the same coin. Have you?

I'd love to see a similiar pic for comparison.

Thanks, X. That was actually my first stop. I love that site. It's slim on 69 S DDO's though. That's what got me to thinking this isn't as common as folks assume.
