Blue & Grey find's from the weekend.....

Like everyone who went on this hunt has been saying this was probably the hardest hunt I've ever on.Between the deer tick's(found 2)the chigger's,briar's and the copperhead's there were a few relic's to be had.I think the best find for me was a Crucifix with Ebony inlay.....I found a pic of one in Crouch's CW Artifact book that match's it very closely. Most of the rest of my find's were typical from what everyone else was finding, flat button's,buck's,glass shard's,reed's etc.....There were a few US Plates and some beautiful Va. button's found along with a USA Rosette too.All in all some good diggin' for most.If you can, look into the B&G III hopefully in the spring.Thank's for looking and HH!!

Hi, :hello:

The Cross was a Rosary Cross made from brass and wood. Strung with beads you would pray with them in your hand. :o Whoever had those were praying for their life in combat. :notworthy: That beats any 3 ringer bullet find to me any day. ;D Awesome find, I'd even say banner but no one would agree. :'(

Keep @ it and HH!! :D ;D

Good job. As far as snakes go my motto is "The only good snake is a dead snake" Heck I would kill a 1" garden snake if he came in my way. Pretty gun shy after getting bit twice in my lifetime by snakes.

Poppy is right...that's a harmless eastern hognose snake. They put on a killer show when frightened though. Awesome finds too. I haven't been able to get any CW stuff yet, but I iwll ;D

The best of both worlds, good finds and no snake bites.

Re: Blue & Grey find's from the weekend.....

Hey Bud,

I heard about the hunt. Sal is a really nice guy and goes out of his way to accomodate if he can but from what I understand, it could've used a good soaking and a nice bush hog!! My buddy Josh Sherman was there and he told me about it.....Jeff is from here and rode up to the hunt with Josh.......He ended up finding him a nice U.S. Plate with all the attachments...From what I understand he had only been a coin hunter until then.....and that one moment of adrenaline has now got him hooked to relics too :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft: Glad y'all had a good time and found some relics....

Diggin In Virginia is just about a month away and I'm gearing up for that one. It IS the cream of the crop in terms of invitational hunts, and speaking as someone who'll be a 5-time DIV invitee/digger, the hunts are always outstanding! You're going to have a blast :headbang:

Joe,
Congrats on the finds and thanks for the great photos. I'm sure any day you get to hunt with Ty is better than the day before.
(He paid me to say that by the way) ::)
As far as that snake, I don't care what kind it is, just keep it up your way. ;D
