Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

It was such a beautiful day here, got things off to a good start with Kids and Christmas and all, which then afforded me an opportunity to go out to another "hunted out" park in the area.

Enjoying the warm, sunny day, swinging along, when I get this mixed signal, dig, dig, carefully, and out pops this old wheat penny. Turns out to be a 1909 VDB! It is a bit hard to see the VDB, but sure enough, its there.

Oh well, perhaps today, or someday, it will be the 1909 "S" VDB. After all, someone has to find one.(in my mind, there are 484,000 chances aren't there?)

Not in that good of shape, but I think its a wonderful find, especially for the old "hunted out" park and for it being Christmas day.

Ya Just Never Know. Ya Dig?

Happy New Year to everyone!

Nice find... sooooo I am not the only nut out there that went hunting on Christmas day! I only found 26 cents in clad at a soccer field no less. It had been raining "big time" all night and I really didn't think I was going to go out at all but it finally stopped and I went to a VERY soggy soccer field. I got totally wet from the knees down and like I said only found 26 cents. End of sad story. Yours ended much better. WTG

Yeah those hunted out places always seem to give me indians and old wheats, where on some detectors the indians will come up as midrange trash and some zinc pennies. Nice find

Nice find. I was going to go out, thinking holidays are great days due to people staying inside but could not.

Good Going! I have yet to find my first 'wheatie' and when I do you'll know it 'cause I will yell so loud you will hear it no matter what state you are in....
