Found this in a park today just below the surface. It is a style used from WWII into the 'Nam. Based on his serial number he enlisted in the 8th Corps Area – AR, LA, TX, OK, NM.

I looked around briefly and it seems most of the sites want $$ to let you see military records...does anyone know a good site that provides this info for free? Would like to see if the soldier or his family would like it back. I guess I could snail mail the listed address...

Searching on the name, I got a hit on a page listing cemetary plots...

NEEDHAM, Everett W

He was burried in a single plot. Haven't found anything on Violet yet.

That's a neat find! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

There's amazing resources (the PEOPLE on Tnet) to help you find the next of kin.

I found a tag at the beach last year and I was amazed at the wealth of info received. I had a photo of the guy, his parents, his marriage announcement...truly amazing.

If you are interested here's that link: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,203455.0.html

Hey Beep. I used to work with a guy named Everett Needham Jr. He and his dad lived in Plum Grove.
(just East of Splendord) off 59N. You might look there or just look them up in the online phone book.

Ditto on what garthb said. Looks like you're getting close. It says the guy had a tetnus shot in 1943, same era. Monty

His wife is still alive and I have her current address (thx to Dimeman). I'm sending her a note and we'll see what happens.
