unknown beach find

I found this on a south florida beach. it is very encrusted, i got a blank on my excal when i went over it. it was kind of stuck to some rocks that were sticking up on the beach. any ideas.

How big is it? Almost looks like an older pipe wrench that is missing the adjustable lower part. I am sure a little electrolysis would make it easier to identify :wink:

Twisty thing.... kinda like the lock from a camper top for a truck... but from a boat... just a barley pop fueled guess... :thumbsup:

if it's about 8 inches long it may be a rifle bolt, looks like locking lugs on it maybe

My Polish grandmother had a name for everything that she didn't know the English word for, a watchamacallit. I think that's what you have. :headbang:

here are some pics after cleaning, there was so much encrusted shells and dark sand. definately looks like a spike of some sorts. What do ya'll think?

That "blank" is called a null, Minelabs null when they go over iron. Looks like old iron spike........
