Haven't posted on this board for awhile (been mostly CRHing) as I haven't had much spare time for swingin. Tried my luck this evening below my house in a wooded area that used to be a farm field. Was hoping for some civil war relics as this area is right on the old national pike in western MD. Well anyhow, found a few pieces of lead...help with ID would be appreciated. Near the end of my hour hunt mt MXT hits a strong 85 signal, so I dig a large hole and out pops a quarter sized silver coin at about 8 inches. I was not sure what it was until I cleaned it up a bit at the house. My first Barber quarter! 1906 no mint mark. Its in great shape to boot. It does have what appears to be a rust mark that won't wash off. The reverse is also tarnished rather badly but does have fine detail. Any suggestions? I'm ready to hit this place hard now!

I'll try a scan later on...my camera doesn't like closeups.

Hey Joad,......Great looking Barber. I have skipped the barbers (not by choice) and have a couple seated dimes, but no quarters seated or Barber.
Excellent find!!! :headbang:
