Started in a park without any success so I reluctantly decided to retry a building I had previously done with a fine tooth comb. Just when discouragement started to kick got a nice strong signal about 6" down and out popped a 1910 D barber dime. Not the prettiest but it is my first barber. Two holes later I dug the unidentified coin also pictured. Anybody can help me identify I'd really appreciate.

Here's a closeup of the unidentified. It looks to be off center. The letters I can make out the best are "orange".

No info on the unidentified. However the barber is SWEET. I myself second the WOO HOO emotion

Nice finds! Your unidentified coin looks like a flat button with a pattern on the front. The back has Orange Gilt which is an instant giveaway. It is much older than your dime!
Dave.

Thanks much Dave. I'll read Buckleboy's button cleaning thread and see if I can get it cleaned up a little better.

I was thinking Orange Gilt half cent. :D As funny as that might seem it probably happened some. My friend found a military button used as a coin.
